Ever looked at the fixtures list at the bookies and seen odds of 1/7 or even 1/10 on a team to win? That's what you get betting on the Premier League. Teams like Man City, Liverpool, Man Utd, Tottenham, Chelsea & Arsenal all playing (not against each other) takes up a big chunk of the weekends action and good odds are nowhere to be seen. This is why I focus my betting on the Championship. Its the league I watch week in, week out and the one I can predict at a pretty staggering rate. In comparison the worst odds for opening weekend of the Championship are 3/10 (as of 24th July), in fact only 4 teams are odds on. Now betting at £10 per bet doesn't mean I'm going to be backing all 12 games every weekend either. I pick the best bets using the best markets for the games and I limit this to my top 5 picks. The bet I believe is most likely to come in. As I said, I use the different markets to allow for the best returns on the weekends action not all these markets are used every week as it all depends on the weekends fixtures. How do I maximise profits? There are 6 bets to place each weekend. Hang on Rob... you said you make 5 picks! I do, I place a 1pt bet on each selection and a 0.25pt bet on the 5-fold. If I go perfect, I want to be paid for that, at the same time I've been around football long enough to know that anything can happen in a game, red card in the first half, injury to an important player or simply am in-form team not turning up on the day, so I don't want to put the same amount of risk into this bet, so I lower the risk to just 0.25pts. So I'm betting £100 per bet on the singles and £25 on the 5-fold, if you were using £10 bets, its £10 bets on each single and £2.50 on the 5-fold. How's it going this season? £2,143.82 Profit Pretty good. We've placed 48 bets so far this season and won 27 of them. We've hit 6/8 of my picks of the week as I've already mentioned. And we've been perfect one time (from 8) in week 3 we went perfect and on top of the 5 wins, landed this 0.25pt ACCA at odds of 25.74

What you need to know... I send out the bets via email before the weekend, usually on a Friday evening, but if the Friday evening game makes up part of my betting you will get the bets Thursday evening. I advise using a bookie to place these bets, not an exchange. Although you can place 83% of the bets on the exchange. You would be missing out on the ACCA by using an exchange but you would still see profit. I advise using a 25pt betting bank. This is here to cover any losing weeks or runs which we do have through the season, but with an overall strike rate of 58% on my selections I'm sure you'll not need to touch most of it and after a few wins you can withdraw that amount back into your own pocket and carry on betting from profits alone.
